About Verdara

Fresh food shouldn't depend on the weather.

We build indoor vertical hydroponic systems that let anyone grow clean, fresh produce at home — in a city apartment, in the middle of winter, without a garden or a green thumb.

A vertical hydroponic tower filled with leafy greens growing indoors
Our story

It started with a windowsill that didn't get enough sun.

Verdara began in Jacksonville with a straightforward frustration: growing anything edible indoors was harder than it needed to be. Soil was messy, light was inconsistent, and half the herbs from the grocery store wilted before they were used. The systems that promised to fix it were either industrial equipment scaled down badly, or gadgets that locked you into buying their pods forever.

So we built what we actually wanted. Plants grow in nutrient-rich water instead of soil, stacked vertically so a full harvest fits in about two square feet. Pumps recirculate water on a schedule and full-spectrum LEDs handle the light, which means the routine is automated and your part is mostly the good part — picking dinner.

We're a small team, and we still answer our own support line. If a tower gives you trouble at week three, you're talking to someone who has grown in it.

Grow what you eat, when you want it — not when the season allows.

How it works

Hydroponics, minus the learning curve

No soil, no guesswork. Three steps between an empty corner and your first harvest.

1

Seed the pods

Drop biodegradable starter pods into the tower's ports and fill the base reservoir with water and our two-part nutrient mix. Sprouts usually appear within a few days.

2

Let it run

The pump circulates nutrient-rich water past the roots on a timer while full-spectrum LEDs run a set day and night cycle. Top up the reservoir and check pH now and then — that's the maintenance.

3

Harvest, repeat

Leafy greens and herbs are typically ready to cut in around three weeks. Harvest the outer leaves and the plant keeps producing, so one seeding feeds you for months.

What we stand for

How we build, and why

Three commitments that shape every system, pod and guide we ship.

Clean by default

Non-GMO seed, no pesticides, and food-safe materials throughout. What comes out of the tower goes straight onto the plate — so we build it as though we're the ones eating it, because we are.

No lock-in

Our ports take your own seeds, not just ours. Buy refills because they're convenient, not because the hardware refuses to work without them. A system you can't fully use isn't a system you own.

Honest about results

Growth depends on your water, light and room temperature, so we publish realistic ranges instead of best-case numbers. If a plant is difficult indoors, our guides say so rather than selling you the pods anyway.
